Runny Honey

Suffolk runny honey is great on porridge or granola and the colour can range from light golden to quite dark through the season as the different nectar sources vary.

Our honey can be considered raw as it is only coarse strained on extraction and is not pasteurised. This minimal processing ensures the pollen is retained along with all the benefits that the bees and nature intended.

It is cleaned, filtered, pressed into sheets and hand rolled into 100% beeswax candles. Beeswax candles may seem expensive, but they burn more slowly than paraffin candles, and even better, beeswax candles burn with almost no smoke or scent and clean the air by releasing negative ions into the air. These negative ions can bind with toxins and help purify the air. Beeswax candles are often especially helpful for those with asthma or allergies and they are effective at removing common allergens like dust and dander from the air. Each candle can vary in colour, as this depends on the colour of the wax produced by the bees, but will only vary in lighter or darker shade of the natural beeswax that you see in the picture. My candles are individually hand rolled from sheet wax. I make every effort to ensure they are of same size, but as a handmade product, from hand produced sheets of wax they may vary slightly. Please be assured what you are buying is a quality candle that will burn beautifully for you for up to 16 hours. We have rigorously tested our candles to make sure the correct wick is used for the correct amount of wax in each candle. I call these my standard Pillar candles, they are sold in pairs. Tips for using your candles. • Remove all wrapping and packaging from your candle before lighting • Ensure your candle is safely anchored and away from flammable objects before lighting. • Always ensure you burn your candle until you achieve an even melt pool (see picture) • Keep your wick to no longer than 4mm • Do not use hurricane lamps or lanterns for your candles, beeswax burns far hotter than many candle waxes and also reduces oxygen flow which may cause the wick to smoke the glass and cause the wax to spill over the side of the candle and cause uneven burning. • Never leave a burning candle unattended • Please enjoy using my candles produced with love and care, from bee to me to you

1lb Raw Coarse Filtered 2020 Devon Honey

I have for sale Raw Coarse filtered Honey from our apiaries based at the foot of the Blackdown Hills in Devon. The apiaries are kept chemical free, and are regularly inspected by DEFRA, ensuring we have healthy bees and good bee husbandry. Nectar sources include Blackberries, Bramble, Clover, Heather, Lime trees, Rosebay, Willow, Sweet chestnut and a myriad of wild flowers grown in our meadows. There is nothing added or taken away. There are no preservatives or additives, it is dairy free and gluten free. It is also a source of natural sugars and vitamins. Frosting and granulation are natural features of Raw and Coarse filtered honey depending on what and where the bees have collected. The temperature the honey is stored at will also affect this. This may mean that when the jar arrives with you it may be crystallised. To return your honey to runny honey, stand the jar in warm water. As you can see from the photo above the colour of the honey changes with the pollen & nectar available for the bees. Where possible we will send you honey that has been collected within the last two to three weeks. During the winter the bees are resting so any honey available will be from the previous spring and summer.

Spring honey 2025

The most delicious honey we’ve produced to date. Pure honey from the hive, not set (at least not so far) harvested in July. Like any pure honey, it will eventually crystallise if left long enough but is easily restored to liquid with gentle warming of the jar in a pan of water. Sometimes spring honey will turn into set honey by itself. Don’t know if that’s going to happen or not yet. Either way it’s the good stuff. When it’s gone, it’s gone.
